Susann Nienhaus, RN, JD

Director, Risk Management and Patient Safety

Susann Nienhaus is a Registered Nurse and attorney. After obtaining her nursing degree, cum laude, in 1979 she spent nearly 20 years focused on cardiovascular surgical nursing. In 1990 she was among the first class to achieve Certification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant from the Association of Operating Room Nurses. In 1999 Ms. Nienhaus graduated from the IU School of Law at Indianapolis. Ms.Nienhaus was an editor on the International and Comparative Law Review and received the Jordan Constitutional Law Award. As Director of Risk Management at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital from 2002 through 2007, Ms. Nienhaus developed and implemented a patient safety program that combined quality improvement initiatives and risk reduction efforts to improve departmental efficiencies and prevent healthcare errors. Ms.Nienhaus joined Strategic Healthcare Group LLC as Director of Risk Management and Patient Safety in September 2010.
